The HomeTown Bro-Down Tour II 18/11/12

Sunday let's be honest it's the night when you turn to you're non hungover and tired friends from a weekend of not partying and decide to go to a rock gig. But still these boys managed to get a respectable turn out. It was the last night for the brethren tour for Pavilions, Violet, Arms of Atlas and I Divide. With Arms of Atlas kicking it off they hit the crowd with their insane musical skill. From the start you could tell these guys were talented, experienced and dedicated. I even saw them change from their respectable clothing to attire ripped to high heavens these guys are serious about giving you a good show. With Bass licks that could leave a mark on your face and Guitar shredding that could melt it. I really can't wait to see more of these boys!

Next we Had Violet the largest band with 7 members. If you've ever been to Cavern, Exeter then you know this is a tight squeeze. And yet these boys know how to optimise every unit of the band to give a sound that smaller bands can only dream of. Violet has had a change of Singer/Serenader' not long ago and now Jordan is the beautiful pipes of the band (Who also is a fan of Conor Maynard). I can't comment of the previous singer but this lad has the voice of an angel making girls ,non specific, swoon in the crowd. Crudely complimented by Charlie Bass's raw screams. This band are bringing all the finer things together to give you a complex compilation of rock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D64r4H-w4Iw

Then to the stage where Pavilions two supporting I Divide vest. It's good to see bands clothing one another. I was told that this was Pavilions first tour taking that of board I can make no faults. Their stage performance wasn't as dynamic as the other veteran bands. But the public paid for the music to which they did not fail to deliver. Fresh with sing along lyrics they performed in their own way. I have no doubt with more tours and experiences under their belt they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Energetic and furious as always I Divide stormed the stage leading the crowd by example. Within seconds the anticipating crowd where spurred to their feet. These guys love what they do you can see their passion and intensity as they give it all they've got especially Guitarist (Henry Selley) who's always supporting an injury from the previous show/party. Singing along to catchy home town lyrics you could feel this band connects to their fans. Exeter had  the unveiling of I Divide's soon to be single 'Run away'. With a strong chorus, rebelling gang vocals and ample opportunity for crowd participation this song could be I Divides anthem which takes them to the next step. Ending with my personal favourite 'This Ship's Going Down' The Tour fulfilled it's named as the members of the other bands swarmed for a final party feel stage invasion to close.

Have Fun, Love Jazz Furphy xxx
